As a result of meetings and discussions, we will also collect information pertaining to the product(s) we will provide.
We do not collect any personal financial (i.e. bank or credit card details) or sensitive personal data (such as health conditions).

Your personal details (name, email, mobile number etc) are used for keeping in contact with you during the project.
Your business details are used, initially for checking against Companies House for fraud prevention, then for invoicing and accounts.
Any information you provide us about your business we use solely for the purpose of providing you with our services.

On the basis of contract - if the enquiry leads to a quotation, we will process your contact details.
When we work together on a project:
On the basis of consent - you consent to provide us with details pertaining to your business in order for us to be able to provide our products or services.
On the basis of contract - once an order has been agreed to provide our product(s) or service, we will use data you have provided to complete that order.
On the basis of legitimate interests - once a project is complete, we may contact you again to inform you of an update or other information relevant to the product you chose.
If you do not wish us to contact you after a project is complete, please contact our data controller. We will acknowledge your change of consent but then you will not be contacted again.
When do we share personal data?
If we are under a legal obligation, for example we are asked to provide your details as a result of a court order.

Your details are not shared with anyone outside of Cheney Racing - unless we have your consent. For example, on some occasions we may need to provide your details to a shipping company.
Where do we store and process personal data?
When you enquire through the website or by telephone:
In the first instance, data entered into the website form is emailed to Simon Cheney. The data is also securely stored in the content management side of the website form. This is only accessed by our data controller here in the UK. Technically, the providers of the content system have access but only use it should a technical issue beyond our control require them to view our site. The providers of the content system are based in the United States. They are compliant with GDPR. You can read their Privacy Policy for all the data they hold (bearing in mind it is written primarily for those who have signed up to use their content system, so sections about marketing will not apply).
When we work together on a project:
After initial contact and processing your details as above, once you have given the go-ahead for an order we add your contact details to our clients section of our accounting software, allowing us to keep in touch and keep track of payments. This is done by our data controller. Only our data controller will have access to your details.
How do we secure personal data?
We take data security seriously and ensure that any information collected from you is treated with appropriate levels of security, including ensuring any cloud-based solutions we use have credible security in place. To protect data against accidental loss we do regular back-ups. We would only share your data with anyone outside Cheney Racing with your prior permission and after they have signed a non-disclosure agreement.
How long do we keep your personal data for?
When you enquire through the website or by telephone:
We keep enquiry details for 12 months, as some enquiries may take some months to be finalised and approved before a client is ready to order. After that time your details will be deleted from the software.
When we work together on a course:
We keep information relating to your order. This may go beyond the product ordered for financial and archive purposes only. All other data will be destroyed (physically shredded or completely deleted from any database).
